FLEET WEEK - 2014

 Beauty

 and

THE BEAST
War is such an ugly thing.  It is A Beast!

Escape and find beauty around you.  It's that time of year when the flowers are blooming and the excitement of summer is approaching. You can also smell the barbeques starting to burn around the city!
During Fleet Week there was a chance to board a naval ship.  Hugh!  The men and women I spoke with were so full of life.  They were so happy to have been docked.  Their excitement made me excited!

To have been able to speak words of encourgement, was special.  I was so proud of them. From the answer I received when asked why they were there.  They said they liked it and it's what they wanted to do.

There was so much to do and see.  The children, with their parents in tow, got to climb in and out of heavy duty vehicles and put on helmets and pose for pictures.  The look on their faces  as they climed and scurried about.  The service personnel were very patient with them.  They took the time to explain as they were battered with many questions.  I now think of the them and hope they hold on to the joy of that day in the coming months ahead.

So to all the U.S. Military Men And Women Out There!  THANK YOU!!!
