Sample Poetry Pieces

Poetry, what can I say.  It can be soothing to the spirit.  It can also be a mind blower.  Not one for dull poetry styles.  As each poetry has it's own personality, here are a couple of pieces I have taken to the streets:

city streets

You have Haiku, Limericks, Sonnets, just to name a few.  My mother is a good writer.  She knows the "forms" and have done very well in her talent.

Only once have I attended a poetry class.  I don't remember if I even finished!  I found  the class too conforming.  The instructor wanted us to write what was comfortable to him.  I couldn't do that.  Writing for many years, I have had some pieces that were purchased.  Pieces that were said to have really touched a person's heart.  I have been blessed that people like my work and have commissioned me to write so they can give as gifts to others.

I try not to be critical of another persons work.  It is a personal thing that people take very serious.  I try to respect that.  Writing to me is an expression of invisible feelings stored inside.  One way to express it for some is to put it in a "poem".  This is a way to say it softly or say it LOUD!  It it hoped the receiver feels what the writer is saying because words cut to the very asunder of our being without physical touch.  Poetry puts it out there in such a creative way.

I find that writing is like painting a picture, but without using paint.  I can't speak on what others may feel when they write.  Some poetry can be very long.  I call them mini novel. They can be tweaked to music and made into wonderful songs.  Some artists can write very beautiful lyrics, their ballads will blow you away!  Some guys from England were very good at that.  Another resides in Hot-Lanta!

For now, as I continue to write, I hope others continue to enjoy the pieces that I create because they are written from my heart.

Peace.
